Entrepeneurship

Back

IE Business School is a business project that resulted from a private initiative set in motion 30 years ago.

Since then the school has worked to foster the creation of new businesses as an engine for economic growth, generation of collective wealth, emloyment and social-being. IE Business School's entrepreneurial spirit is, without doubt, one of the main features for which the school is internationally renowned.

The following are some examples of the fruits of this approach:

The Department of Entrepreneurship, established in 1985 to act as a platform for all initiatives related with Entrepreneurship. Academics and practitioners work in lockstep with 200 tutors in the field of entrepreneurship; Programmes in Corporate Venturing for corporate clients like Siemens, in Germany; ICEVED, a web portal that links up 24 international schools, acting as an interface for entrepreneurs and investors; The NETI project, a programme oriented to the creation of new firms related to innovative technology, in collaboration with Amena; The Chair in Entrepreneurship and Family Businesses, which undertakes research into entrepreneurial issues, and which each year leads in the Spanish analysis of the GEM Report.
