IE Business School believes that a diverse range of people, skills, competencies, cultures and more, is not only a fact in today’s corporate world, but a key strategy for survival.
IE Business School realizes that a varied talent pool, in our faculty staff and students, is a definite business asset. Group variety improves performance, bringing different voices, generates wider and different views on market, environmental and ethical issues, making for a creative and innovative learning environment.
IE Business School realizes that diversity is a global management concern and as such we feel we have an educational responsibility towards the business world, in two specific ways:
In this respect, our faculty supported by the centers of excellence, provide training and other academic tools for diversity management and generate applied research towards understanding the benefits and opportunities generated by diverse and flexible management. The school’s commitment to diversity is also reflected in the variety of scholarships and support for diverse groups.
IE Business School Community, integrates a large variety of backgrounds and aspirations, including over 100 nationalities. Women represent 36% of students and more than 30% of faculty.
The IE Community proudly incorporates over 25 groups, including IE Women in Business and IE Out (LGTB Network) providing students with many opportunities to network and connect with others with similar interests and goals. Please see a list of our clubs here.
IE aims to create an environment where all can learn and work to their maximum potential. The school has created a Diversity and Equality Commission, to ensure that no member of our staff or student body will receive less favorable treatment on any grounds which are not related to good employment practice or to academic performance.
IE firmly believes that diversity includes the different ways in which each member of our community looks, thinks and acts, as well as their different needs. Given this conviction, one of the commission’s key objectives is to develop tools that give members of our organization the flexibility they need to apply their unique talents to contribute to the shared objectives of IE.
