IE School of Communication Professor Magdalena Wojcieszak has been awarded with a research grant by the Junta de Castilla y León.
This experimental work focuses on media effects depending on the possibility for the particiants to select the content on their own. This study "speaks to the potential gap between the "real world" and the existing experimental studies on media effects by experimentally examining the influence of forced vs. selective exposure to political media messages. In order to achieve this goal, the study "will contrast a typical experimental procedure, where respondents are forced to view media content, , with an experimental procedure allowing respondents to engage in selective exposure, where they can select the content to which they will be exposed".
These research grants encourage research and technological development in Castilla y León and they are also aimed at contributing the stability of all the research programs and the promotion of young investigators.
