Lecture, Law & Development: The Case of Kosovo, Headed by Prof. Christie Warren

Monday 9 March 2009, William & Mary School of Law Professor and Director of the Center for Post Conflict Justice, Christie Warren, lectured on Law & Development: The Case of Kosovo for students in the LLM in International Legal Practice. Professor Warren based the lecture on her recent experience as an Advisor to the Government of Kosovo in drafting a new Constitution, following Kosovo’s independence in February 2008. In order to draft an innovative and useful document the new Kosovo leaders invited a team of renowned scholars, which included Professor Warren, to provide insight and guidance in creating the new constitution. This is not the first time that Professor Warren has assisted governments in post conflict situations. Among the 35 different countries where she has done field work developing democratic institutions and judicial systems are Cambodia, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Moldova.
