IE University presented a new degree in Spanish Law, to be conducted in Segovia and Madrid starting the next academic year at an event attended by Attorney General Eduardo Torres-Dulce. IE Law School also presented new scholarships for this program sponsored by law firms: "Rodrigo Uria, Advocacy and Humanities scholarship", "Pérez-Llorca Scholarship for excellence in the practice of Law ", and "Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira scholarship for innovative advocacy. "
Attending the panel discussion titled "The modernization of justice" were Eduardo Torres-Dulce, Jose M. De Areilza (Dean, IE Law School), Soledad Atienza (Director Bachelor of Laws), Salvador Sánchez-Terán (Partner, Uría Menéndez), Pedro Pérez-Llorca (Managing Partner, Perez Llorca) and Federico Roig (Partner, Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira). The Attorney General stressed that "excellence and future elites are born of university education."
The new Law Degree at IE University, is taught between the Segovia and the Madrid campus and is oriented to train lawyers for the Spanish market with an active teaching methodology. The program includes a course on lawyering that focuses on the practical elements of training. Students will learn to work and think as lawyers from the first year and will attend a number of courses in English from year one.
