The mission of the IE School of Social & Behavioral Science is to train professionals highly skilled in researching, analyzing, interpreting, and influencing the behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations.
The social, political and economic world in which we live in is currently undergoing a massive upheaval as online technologies, social media and the forces of globalization are connecting customers, employees and citizens together in new ways. Recent scientific advances have rapidly increased our understanding of human behavior, and these advances now make it possible for companies and governments to better design and customize their products and services, their organizational structures, and their policies based on social needs and human behaviors.
While the need to understand behavior has become increasingly important, companies are struggling to find highly skilled professionals able to help them understand their customers, make sense of massive amounts of economic and behavioral data, and design work environments that ensure employees are happy, motivated and optimally productive. Likewise, governments and political groups are facing the difficult challenge of conducting research and making sense of the voting behavior of their citizens and the attitudes of their constituencies. Through practical, interdisciplinary, and profession-focused training we equip our graduates for successful careers helping business, economic and political organizations address these new and increasingly important challenges.
