Career Advising

In this new, changing and innovative global environment every candidate needs to build a consistent and distinguishing professional brand. A well-structured résumé accompanied by a cover letter that sets a candidate apart is essential, but this is not the only thing that recruiters look at. As noted above, a professional online presence that is consistent with this résumé is increasingly a differentiating factor for the most sophisticated recruiters.

Working in constant contact with Recruiters Relations, the Career Advising team identifies the skills and competences that recruiters from different industries and geographical areas are looking for to bolster their teams. Its personal mentoring of each student covers three key areas:

  • Designing a career project with students depending on their interests and abilities.
  • Giving advice on resources available to improve or acquire the skills and competences students need to reinforce their professional branding and how to get the most out of them.
  • Working with students to develop the tools that best project their professional brand, including a résumé and cover letter, their online presence and building a relevant network that gives them access to the world’s best recruiters.

Through integration with the International Offices and Alumni at IE, this lifelong career mentoring is delivered comprehensively throughout the world after graduation.
