The application process
The IE Admissison Department makes a rigorous selection among the large numbers of candidates who apply: selecting dynamic, creative, high-potential profiles who stand out by their academic and professional achievements as well as interpersonal skills. All applications received from the 1st of April to the 31st of May will be considered for the Priority Admission process. Participate in the Priority Admission and you will receive your final admission decision maximum within one month, allowing you to plan early on and kick-start your studies.

To initiate the admissions process for the Global Master in Finance, we require:
> A Bachelor's degree at an accredited university (at this stage a copy of the degree is accepted; however to complete the process you will need to present original documents).
> 5+ years of work experience, ideally in finance.
We will accept one of the following entrance exams:
> The GMAT is not obligatory but is highly valued as part of your application and may be requested from candidates with limited quantitative experience.
> English Language Certificate for non-native speakers:
- TOEFL (Reporting Code: 0707)
- Pearson PTE Academic - IELTS - Cambridge (CAE or CPE)
- NOTE: This requirement does not apply if candidates have two years of work experience in an English-speaking country or, undergraduate degree completed in English.
The demanding nature of the Finance Master at IE requires that all candidates go through a rigorous selection procedures to ensure a top quality student body.
The main objective of the admissions process is toto select students with the highest potential. This requires knowledge of your professional background and experience, as well as assessing your ability to interact and thrive within this demanding program.
Please keep in mind that although IE operates on a rolling admission basis, we recommend you to start your application process as far in advance as possible, roughly six months ahead of the date you wish to start.
Entrance exam (*)
You can choose to present 1 of the 3 different entrance exam options:
• GMAT (680 average - GMAT reporting code 6XT-ZH-93)
• CFA Level I
• CAIA level I
(*) The entrance exam could be waived for candidates with extensive working experience in the finance and banking sector, after a well-rounded evaluation through the submitted application and the feedback of the formal interview.

English Language Certificate for non-native speakers

• A one-page C.V
• A Bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university or equivalent
• 2 recommendation letters.
• Original undergraduate university transcripts and diploma or expected grades if you have not yet completed your degree.
• Copies of other relevant degrees, certificates or accreditations (as applicable).
• Copy of current passport
• 1 passport-size photo.
• Application fee of €125
If the Admissions Committee deems that your profile meets these standards, we will contact you to arrange an interview. This interview will be conducted in person, or in the case of our international applicants, via Skype webcam. It is important for us to see you during the interview.
The interview examines the data provided in the application in greater detail and evaluates whether your profile will meet the demands of the program and add value within the class discussion and group work. Normally candidates will go through one interview, however, the Admissions Committee may contact you for a second interview if we need to verify certain aspects.
Recommendation for the interview: enthusiasm, motivation and passion for finance are the key evaluation factors for us. So be well prepared, research about financial issues, especially the areas where you wish to specialize in the future, and show us you are a competent finance professional!
Following the interview and upon review of your entire application, the Admissions Committee will make its final decision based on the evaluation of your candidature as a whole. A final decision communication is typically 10 days - 2 weeks after the interview has taken place, considering all documents have been received.
If you are successful, you will be usually be offered a place for a certain period of time, the length of time depends on the volumen of applications for that intake. Our Admissions Team will send you information about how to reserve your place on the program and how to finalize enrollment. We will then work closely with you through this process.
