Global MBA+, Blended Squared format, English track
An innovative and flexible design, tailored to your needs
The Global MBA+ benefits from an innovative and flexible format, designed to suit our students’ professional and personal goals by combining face-to-face learning with interactive online periods. Students do not have to sacrifice any work commitments yet can enjoy access to an international network of coursemates following the program from different locations around the globe. This format truly reflects the working practices of the world we live in today, and helps everybody to remain connected without actually having to relocate. The program is divided into two parts: Core Period and Module.
The Core Period covers the characteristic areas of study in an MBA and lasts around 2/3 of the program. It begins with a week-long pre-program designed to familiarize students with our online methodology, which allows students to become confident with all the online tools employed in the Master from the beginning. The second week takes place in Madrid and then continues with alternating online training via IE Online Campus and face-to-face classes every 6 weeks.
The Module applies your knowledge acquired during the Core Period to your area of interest, reinforcing it with more in-depth knowledge and helping students gain access to a network centered on their specific interests. You may choose 1 of our offered Modules; changing the program format and language of instruction if you wish. The final module comprises about 1/3 of the total program.
The Global MBA+ program offers a host of personalization options:
- Choose your language of study for the Core Period (English or Spanish).
- Decide the format of your Core Period (Blended, Blended Squared, or Face-to-Face).
- Select the Module in which you wish to specialize.
A Blended experience Blended program students
The program begins with an orientation week that will help you become familiar with IE's Blended learning methodology. You will learn how to get around the IE Online Campus and you will be introduced to the main tools that you will need in online classes during the program; videoconferences and discussion forums. You will also get to know the case methodology.
These tools and methods, based on working in virtual teams, reflect the reality of companies in a global business environment, where suppliers, customers and partners make optimal use of a connected world.
During this week, we introduce the first courses of the program and hold several workshops aimed at developing leadership skills.
This is the time to meet your future classmates and professors in person as you will share classes and group projects with them as well as a learning experience that will mark the development of your career. Madrid will be your meeting point and IE's headquarters will host the venue where the first classes of the program will be held.
Once the week in Madrid is over, the program continues online. This first period enables students from various academic fields and professional backgrounds to homogenize their knowledge. During that time, you will acquire the tools and skills that will be used online during the second period as well as during the specialization classes.
In this online format of the MBA, subjects are studied two at time. This allows students to study the subjects in progressively greater depth, making it easier for students to assimilate new information. The amount of time you will have to dedicate to your studies is estimated at about 20 hours per week.
During this period students will acquire a global and integrated outlook on the actions and strategies of different organizations, combining online and face-to-face learning. It is during this period that issues that may affect a business are analyzed in full detail, highlighting the impacts on the affected business areas, and ultimately resulting in the integration of the knowledge that students will have acquired up to this point.
This period will allow you to experience firsthand the challenges and opportunities that working in a team entails; a key ingredient to corporate success.
We help students develop new skills and adopt a broad perspective in relation to business and companies. We want them to become strategists, architects of their organizations and leaders. They have to learn how to manage the threats and opportunities that arise in an increasingly complex and competitive environment where it becomes more difficult to maintain a competitive advantage.
Allows students to acquire the necessary skills to exploit the comparative advantages of their company and convert them into substantial competitive advantages, which will assist in the development of their professional careers.
Helps students acquire the tools they need to face specific industry challenges and allows them to become efficient players and leaders in the sector.
