We Look for Talent

An MBA Out of the Ordinary demands that we recruit students who have demonstrated great success in their careers, no matter what their background.  We take a holistic approach when evaluating each candidate and look at every aspect of your application. We know there are many types of success beyond test scores or the field you came from.

Requirements for the IE IMBA

The Process

Admission is granted on a rolling basis and although there is no deadline for applications, there are limited spaces, so early applications are recommended.

The admissions process starts when you submit your online application along with your supporting documents.

The application is your chance to make a good first impression, so show us what you will add to the IE community. Be sure to highlight relevant academic and professional achievements, and tell us why you’re motivated to pursue the IE International MBA.

You may save your online application and work on it at your own pace, and you may submit it anytime. It will take roughly 3 weeks for the Admissions Committee to review your file and provide you with initial feedback.

For additional information about the application requirements, entrance exam and language certificate please download The International MBA Admissions Process pdf.

You can attach all your supporting documents to your online application, including your entrance exam and language certificate results. Alternatively, you can also send them by email to imba.admissions@ie.edu at your earliest convenience. Supporting documents include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Transcript
    Bachelor’s Degree Diploma
    2 Letters of Recommendation
    3 Essays
    Photocopy of Passport/DNI
    1 Photo
Entrance exam* (GMAT, the GRE or the IE Global Admissions test)

Taking the GMAT? IE provides you with the opportunity of taking a GMAT practice exam even before signing up for it. With three different formats – Micro, Mini or Full test – IE’s GMAT simulation offers you the chance to customize the practice test in accordance with your busy schedule. In case you are not a native English or Spanish speaker and you do not meet the requirements for language exemption** you will need to present a language certificate not older than 2 years from the start of the program.

  • English language certificate we accept: TOEFL (100 minimum), IELTS (7.0 minimum), Cambridge Advanced (C1 minimum), and Pearson Academic (73 minimum)
Spanish language certificate we accept: DELE (C1 minimum), and Cámara de Comercio de Madrid

* A competency test will be compulsory during the admissions process or once on campus

**Exemptions apply when you have completed an entire Bachelor’s Degree in English/Spanish, or demonstrated courses taught in English/Spanish and academic transcripts, or you have worked for a minimum of 2 continuous years in an English/Spanish-speaking country.

The interview helps us know you in better, tests your communication abilities and will help determine whether or not your profile will meet the demands of the program. It is recommended that the interview be conducted in person, as it is an integral part of the admissions process. Interviews may be scheduled on campus, at one of our offices worldwide, in coordination with an IE event, or by Skype, should you be unable to meet us in person.

After the interview, your entire application will be evaluated holistically by our Admissions Committee. This is the last step of your application and it will take roughly 1-3 weeks for the Admissions Committee to get back to you with a final decision. Admissions are valid for the intake you apply to and the following one.
