The Application Process
At IE Business School, we take a holistic approach to evaluating your application. We look at every aspect of your profile. It is therefore essential you include detailed information on relevant academic, professional achievements, and any other details that you feel will strengthen your application.
The demanding nature of the Finance Master at IE requires that all candidates go through a rigorous selection procedures to ensure a top quality student body.
The main objective of the admissions process is to select students with the highest potential. This requires knowledge of your professional background and experience, as well as assessing your ability to interact and thrive within this demanding program.
Please keep in mind that although IE operates on a rolling admission basis, we recommend you to start your application process as far in advance as possible, roughly six months ahead of the date you wish to start.
You can choose to present 1 of the 3 different entrance exam options:
• GMAT (680 average - GMAT reporting code 6XT-ZH-93)
• CFA Level II
• CAIA level I

English Language Certificate for non-native speakers

• A one-page C.V
• A Bachelor's degree at an accredited college/university or equivalent
• 2 recommendation letters.
• Original undergraduate university transcripts and diploma or expected grades if you have not yet completed your degree.
• Copies of other relevant degrees, certificates or accreditations (as applicable).

• 1 passport-size photo.

If the Admissions Committee deems that your profile meets these standards, we will contact you to arrange an interview. This interview will be conducted in person, or in the case of our international applicants, via Skype webcam. It is important for us to see you during the interview.
The interview examines the data provided in the application in greater detail and evaluates whether your profile will meet the demands of the program and add value within the class discussion and group work. Normally candidates will go through one interview, however, the Admissions Committee may contact you for a second interview if we need to verify certain aspects.
Recommendation for the interview: enthusiasm, motivation, passion for finance and proved potential to highly succeed in the finance sector are the key evaluation factors for us. So be well prepared, research about financial issues, especially the areas where you wish to work in the future, and show us you are a potential competent finance professional!
Following the interview and upon review of your entire application, the Admissions Committee will make its final decision based on the evaluation of your candidature as a whole. A final decision communication is typically 10 days - 2 weeks after the interview has taken place, considering all documents have been received.
If you are successful, you will be usually be offered a place for a certain period of time, the length of time depends on the volumen of applications for that intake. Our Admissions Team will send you information about how to reserve your place on the program and how to finalize enrollment. We will then work closely with you through this process.
