Our learning experience
IE's Blended methodology is characterized by its eminent practicality, based on the case method and on team work. The topics in each subject are based on real cases and analyzed and discussed by students in forums and videoconferences under the guidance of the professor. Frequent, almost daily contact between students is fundamental. The technology we use allows us to replicate the methodologies of on-campus classes and to enjoy the same experience as you would in a face-to-face class.
Classes
Online forums and videoconferences
Forums run actively 24/7 and ensure a consistency in the communication threads (5 brief entries per participant). Once your contribution is published in the online forum, there is no taking it back. This promotes a high level of thought and analysis before publishing anything, and ensures the best possible quality from your input. The professor plays a key role; encouraging reflection and guiding participants towards the best result for every case. The program includes 2 classes via videoconference each month, these take place on Saturdays from 4 until 5:30pm and from 6 until 7:30pm (local Madrid time). These sessions feature guest speakers, presentations and/or in-depth analysis of theoretical aspects of the course.
Face-to-face classes
The program begins in Sao Paulo. This is the time to get to know the people who you will work with on each case and in class discussions. Students will form strong bonds with each other, which will allow them to progress successfully when doing their group work during the online period. When the program is reaching its end, a week in Madrid will be the time to meet each other again.

… and the face-to-face periods
The weeks spent in Madrid and Sao Paulo will provide new opportunities to strengthen the contacts you have made. During these periods you will mix with students from the Spanish version of the program, whom you will get to know during extracurricular leisure time, thus giving you another opportunity to expand your network beyond the confines of your class. You will also maintain the network you have established with your coursemates during the Core Period.
