Professor Awaysheh’s video profile
Amrou Awaysheh is a Professor of Operations Management at IE Business School. He received his Ph.D. from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, where he also completed his MBA.

Dr. Awaysheh’s research focuses on how firms attempt to manage socially responsible practices in their operations and supply chains. Socially responsible practices encompass programs and systems that aim to reduce the potential for human harm or enhance human well being. Firms can seek to establish systems to ensure human rights within the supplier network, improve the welfare and safety of its workers, make advances in product safety, and/or invest in the local community to improve the quality of life. Dr. Awaysheh also conducts research in International Supply Chain Management and Operations Strategy. His award-winning research has been published in a number of top tier academic journals.

Professor Awaysheh is dedicated to excellence in the classroom. Professor Awaysheh has experience teaching a variety of classes ranging from undergraduate, MBA, to executive courses. He enjoys using different learning tools such as case studies, which allow students to discover creative solutions to real world business problems and to think outside of the box. “I am a strong believer in the scholar/teacher model. The classroom is a great venue for academics to interact with students and managers to discuss and address relevant business issues,” he explains. “I enjoy working with MBA’s to help them build a strong managerial foundation based on the latest academic research as they prepare to be leaders in their workplace.”
