An expert in strategic alliances and legal negotiations, María del Pilar Galeote combines extensive experience in both teaching and business. She is a member of the Legal Counsel Department at Telefónica Intercontinental where she worked in UMTS tenders. She later worked at Clifford Chance, where she specialized in aspects related with negotiations processes in mergers and acquisitions. She has written her doctoral thesis about the vote agreements in corporate companies. Since 1999, she has taught negotiation in different masters, development and executive education programmes at Instituto de Empresa, where she is also Associate Director of the Centre for Negotiation.
“We use our own methodology developed by the Centre, where we have drafted numerous practical cases and teaching notes”. María del Pilar Galeote also co-authored the book Negociar para CON-vencer, published by McGraw Hill and now in its second edition. She is also author of the chapter “La Mediación” in the book Sistemas para la solución extrajurisdiccional de conflictos, published by CERASA, Madrid, September 2006. “Now we are going deeper into mediation, which is an extremely important tool, serving as an alternative resolution mechanism in conflicts”. Professor Galeote has given in-company courses on this subject in companies like the Santander Group, Philip Morris, Banesto and the Atlas Group.
Professor Galeote holds a PhD in Corporate Law, has published her doctoral thesis Sindicatos de voto. El control en una soicedad conjunta, Tirant lo Blanch, Valencia, 2008, degree in Law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Postgraduate Diploma in corporate Law, a Master in Legal Practice from Instituto de Empresa. She has participated as a speaker in courses and seminars and is an entrepreneurship tutor for MBA students at Instituto de Empresa.
