Fundacion Canal launches Comprometi2.0 initiative in collaboration with IE Business School

Fundación Canal has launched an online competition in collaboration with IE Business School. COMPROMETI2.0 is aimed at young people who have recently graduated, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and seek ideas and projects which are innovative, viable, sustainable, and promote economic development as well as the creation of jobs in the Madrid region.

The chief aim of the initiative is to give young entrepreneurs the opportunity and resources to convert their idea into a business project, and to promote team work, competitiveness, and levels of quality, excellence, and commitment to society. It is simple to take part. Participants present their ideas by registering on Fundación Canal’s website or Facebook page, and a judges panel will select the best 35 ideas. An online vote will be held to select one further idea, thus enabling participants to coordinate their own campaigns on social networks.

The 36 ideas will form the basis of an Impact Weekend where experts in entrepreneurial management from IE Business School will divide authors of the ideas into teams based on affinity, complementarity of ideas, and participant profiles. Each team will develop a unique project and, following the Impact Weekend, 5 finalist teams will embark on a coaching/incubation period of 2 months at THE HUB, a co-working platform, where they will receive assessment from experts in the field of entrepreneurship. On completion of this period, the judges panel will choose the winning project, which will be announced in April by Fundación Canal.

The COMPROMETI2.0 prize comprises 3 scholarships for IE Business School’s Master in Management, recently ranked 6th worldwide by Financial Times. The scholarships are co-financed by IE and Fundación Canal. On completion of the Master program in June of 2014, the winning team will put its business idea into practice.
