IE Business School ranked No. 1 in the world by Financial Times for Online MBA programs

IE Business School has been ranked the top business school in the world for the fourth consecutive year in the annual ranking of online MBA programs carried out by Financial Times.

IE Business School has kept the No. 1 position worldwide with its Global MBA  and consolidated its position as the best business school for a blended MBA program.

IE’s Global MBA is a part-time English-taught program that runs for 15 months. It has received students from over 60 countries and 95% of its student body are international students. It combines onsite modules held at IE’s Madrid campus with online modules that include video conferences and forums that enable discussion in a globalized and digital environment. The Financial Times ranking examines aspects that include student profiles, career progression, academic experience, levels of diversity, and the quality of faculty.

“The results of this ranking reflect the level of excellence of IE Business School’s blended methodology, which combines the very best aspects of onsite and online formats,” says Ignacio Gafo, Vice Dean of Part-Time, Blended and Executive MBA programs at IE Business School. “The Global MBA is an innovative program that integrates technology into the academic experience, with participants from around the world. Global MBA graduates have an international profile, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a capacity for solid critical thought. They are innovators and able to manage in changing environments. The program is designed to take students out of their comfort zone, requiring them to meet continual challenges in a global working environment, much like those they will face in the corporate world of today.”

In addition to the Global MBA, IE Business School’s portfolio of blended programs includes the Executive MBA and the IE SMU MBA, a 10-month program focused on business strategies in the Asia Pacific region, run jointly with Singapore Management University. IE Business School also runs the IE Brown Executive MBA jointly with Ivy League member Brown University. The IE/Brown Executive MBA combines the experience and prestige of IE in the field of management with those of Brown in the fields of humanities and social sciences. IE also offers the Global Executive MBA, a program for top managers which combines onsite periods in Madrid, Singapore, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, with online sessions.

In the field of technology, IE has developed initiatives like its WOW Room, the classroom of the future, which has further consolidated its position as a pioneering business school in Europe in terms of developing technology for learning environments. IE launched its e-learning unit, IE Learning Net, in 2002. Since then over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students take part each year in online learning modules in both face-to-face and blended programs.   IE was the first Spanish business school to run MOOCs on Coursera, the leading platform worldwide for open online learning, with programs which have attracted more than 200,000 enrolments by people from some 150 countries.
