#IEforNepal

Nepalese IE University students have launched the #IEforNepal campaign to raise funds to help those affected by the earthquake that hit Nepal last week.

"Our own immediate families are safe, but we consider every Nepalese to be our family. Right now, they need us.” This message of solidarity was sent by Nepalese IE University students Tsering Kenji, Anup Satyal, and Nischal Shrestha, who have launched the #IEforNepal campaign to raise funds to help the thousands affected by the earthquake that hit Nepal last week. IE  and IE Foundation are giving their full support to the campaign, which can accessed at https://www.gofundme.com/swzrrg, by pledging €10,000 to match donations made in this first phase by IE’s students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Here at IE we wish to express our heartfelt solidarity with the Nepalese people at such a painful time. We have been contacting our graduates in the region and according to the information received to date they are safe. However the earthquake has claimed thousands of victims, and hundreds of thousands more are suffering the effects.  “We are extremely thankful for all the support given and concern shown by the students, alumni, faculty and everyone from the IE community during this difficult time in Nepal and India,” says Karan Gupta, IE’s Director of International Development for India and South East Asia. "When we face difficult times, we find hidden reserves of courage and resilience. We stand side by side with the people who have faced this unimaginable tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nepal and India.”
