[Pendiente de traducción] IE has a way to bring the best out of people through networking. It pushes you to meet everybody in your intake (around 300 people) through recurring social events and constantly placing students into group oriented tasks and projects during their academic year. Students meet a wide range of people; naturally filtering the ones who have common values and business views in addition to learning from people with diverging perspectives. In simple words, in IE, you make friends, business partners and constantly exchange ideas to make your learning experience as rich as possible.

Como alumna del IMBA tuve muy buenas experiencias utilizando IECommunities. Por ejemplo, para la asignatura de Sistemas de Información, tuvimos que hacer un trabajo sobre Nintendo. Se nos ocurrió buscar en IECommunites a los Alumni que trabajaban en Nintendo y para nuestra sorpresa encontramos que el Sales Planing Manager de Nintendo hizo el Executive Master en Dirección Comercial y Marketing aquí en el IE Business School. Nos pusimos en contacto con él a través de la opción que da IECommunities de mandar un mail y no sólo nos contestó al mail sino que quedó con nosotros una tarde en el campus y nos ayudó en el desarrollo del trabajo. Su ayuda fue muy útil y gracias a él conseguimos sacar una muy buena nota en el trabajo.

Amber es de nacionalidad estadounidense y posee un MBA Internacional del IE (2000), además de ser licenciada en Estudios Hispánicos y Ciencias Económicas Internacionales por Wheaton College en Massachusetts (EE.UU.). Es Co-fundadora de Wigmore & Álvarez, una consultoría de servicios profesionales especializada en la creación y desarrollo de empresas extranjeras en España. Amber tiene una gran experiencia en la creación y desarrollo de empresas y organizaciones internacionales de diferentes sectores. Ha ocupado puestos ejecutivos de alta dirección en empresas internacionales tanto en los EE.UU. como en España. 

Frecuentemente imparte cursos de “Gestión Intercultural” y “Doing Business in Spain” a ejecutivos extranjeros en multinacionales en España tales como Johnson & Johnson Medical, Abbott Laboratories, Westinghouse, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Danone, Berlitz, Cisco Systems, etc. Es Doctoranda en la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales (ETEA) de la Universidad de Córdoba, en su programa de Doctorado “Planificación, Dirección y Entorno Económico-Social de la Empresa”.

[Pendiente de traducción] Networking is strongly encouraged from day one at IE Business School. IE provides an amazing platform to get to know, understand and become friends with classmates from all over the world. One of my personal goals for my MBA experience is to make as many life-long friends as possible. Our entire intake is very close; we study together, travel together and socialize together. This networking and relationship building is an invaluable part of this education. I have learned so much from my friends ranging from religion to culture to social issues present in areas of the world I was not previously familiar with. I value each relationship I have built and look forward to continue to meet and get to know my fellow classmates at IE.

Cuando acabé el MBA, el contacto con el IE fue muy estimulante y distinto. Los que habian sido mis profesores, ahora son colegas y las experiencias de mis compañeros me ayudan a estar al día y a no perder el contacto con otros sectores. A medida que pasa el tiempo vas valorando más el hecho de formar parte de la red de alumni en la que siempre puedes compartir conocimiento, ideas y nuevos retos. En este sentido, ieCommunities es una la plataforma idonea donde desarrollar tu network. En definitiva, la formación no se limita a lo que aprendes en el año del master, sino también a lo que eres capaz de mantener y enriquecer despues.

[Pendiente de traducción] The practice of networking is something that has enabled companies to embrace differences, remove borders and harness the power of collective thinking. A manifestation of this, within IE, is the online IE Communities, representing fully the diverse wealth of knowledge and cultures that the IE family brings to all of us. This key functionality supported Net Impact to exercise its mission of doing good by doing well, increase awareness and inspire the IE community to create change through business. People from a range of courses offered at IE, reached out to Net Impact through the IE Communities tool to be a part of our goal. As a result our positive message has now penetrated more audiences than we expected, which has maximized our value creation.
