The Emerging Markets Club is hosting recruitment firm, Hudson Spain, as well as the Spain-China Chamber of Commerce for a panel discussion on expat employment and business opportunities in Greater China and Singapore. Our guest speakers will also be joined by three current IE students who will shed light on their expat experience in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, followed by Q&A.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Alfredo Santos, Managing Director of Search & Recruitment in Hudson Spain Mr. Santos started his career in 1992 at Publiespaña-Tele 5 where he worked for four years and became Account Director, developing his functions all through Spain and Italy. In 1996, he joined Sodexo Pass as Marketing Director for a year, to meet the re-launch of the company in Spain, and the new branding. In 1997, he joined Michael Page, when it was a start-up and worked there for seven years as General Manager of Madrid.

In 2004, he entered Hudson as Director of the Madrid office until 2007, when he was promoted to General Manager of the Search and Selection area of Hudson Spain, and currently leading all activities related to this business in Spain. Since 2010, Mr. Santos has been a member of the Board of Directors of Union Financiera Asturiana, EFC, Spain's largest independent private consumer finance entity. He holds a degree in Business and an MBA.

Jorge García, President of Cámara de Comercio Hispano China (Spain-China Chamber of Commerce) Mr. Garcia is an entrepreneur with businesses in three continents and with 14 years experience in China. He has published dozens of business articles on China and is the author of the book "China: Doing Business With Success." He has advised companies and is a frequent speaker on China in Europe and Latin America.

He represents the IFPSM (International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management) and co-represents the Training Committee for Latin America and China IFPSM. His company, Mosaic Consulting, provides advisory services relating to China. Mr. Garcia holds a degree in Business and Economics from the University of Seville (Spain) and is a graduate of the General Management Program at Harvard Business School. He also holds a Master in International Trade and External Relations and in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Directors Cesem in Madrid.

The Spain-China Chamber of Commerce China is a private non-profit created to be a meeting place for companies and professionals in Spain and China. Located in Madrid (Spain), we intend to integrate the concerns that have enterprise-class Chinese citizens in Spain and the Spanish with China.

IE students will also speak about life as an expat in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
