Business and Development: It´s Time for Africa
IE Africa Club Feb 24, 2012
The event will focus on opportunities in Africa, with speakers including top–performing professionals and experts in Africa, embassy representatives of various African countries and academics. The event will also aim to promote relations between IE, Spain and Africa.
IE Business School and the IE Africa club are hosting an event themed “Business and Development: Its time for Africa” on 24th of February 2012. The event will take place in the Aula Magna hall at IE Business School – Maria de Molina 11. The IE Africa Club (IEAC) is a collection of both African and Non-African students who are motivated to increase awareness of the African continent - including the myriad of opportunities that exist. We aim to bring the continent’s rich culture to the fore and to demystify myths about the continent as the world becomes global.
With Africa as one of the world’s largest and most populous continents, it goes without saying that the continent is a global citizen. IE Africa club is hosting this event to further IE Business School’s core values of promoting a global focus, entrepreneurial spirit and a humanistic approach.
The event will focus on opportunities in Africa, with speakers including top–performing professionals and experts in Africa, embassy representatives of various African countries and academics. The event will also aim to promote relations between IE, Spain and Africa.
IE Africa Club envisages fostering communication, relationships and networks among its IE African students, alumni members and Africa community in Spain. The Club also aims to serve as a vehicle for relevant and factual information to students and professionals who have interest in Africa.
This event follows the success of our first event: ‘Business in Africa: Opportunities & Challenges’, which was held on 29 April 2011. Our intention is to host a similar event annually and our members are committed to see that it forms part of the core events at IE Business School in future.
