Angel Batalla is Professor of Global Value Chain and Change Management in different Master, MBA and Executive Education programmes at ie Business School.

Professor Batalla fields of work and teaching interest are Global Value Chain Management and Operational Performance Improvement & Turnaround. In addition, he actively researches the role of managers trying to execute Operational Turnarounds in companies in distress. He teaches in both the MBA programs and Executive Education programs, delivering his classes in residential and on-line format.

He is a Businessman, Entrepreneur, Executive and Director specialized in multi-jurisdictional value-chain restructuring and start-ups. Currently is Director and Managing Partner in two innovative technology-based start-ups.

He treasures over thirty years of successful professional practice as a senior executive in various B2C & B2B multinational firms, in all areas of the Value Chain, in the sectors of Retail, Branded Goods & Services, Consumer, Pharmaceutical & OTC, Medical & Professional.

He serves on private company boards of directors and boards of advisors. He advises and consults about Board and Corporate Governance, Operations and Value Chain Management, Acquisitions and its integration. He also provides hands-on management services as Interim Executive in different positions and roles to corporates, venture capital, private equity sponsors, lenders and debtors.

He is a signatory and member of UN Global ComPACT. Accredited as Director by RiskMetrics Group, his knowledge and experience in Corporate Social Responsibility, good corporate governance and good board governance have been recognized by the International Corporate Governance Network and the Global Corporate Governance Forum.

He is a senior member of several professional associations, amongst which are The Turnaround Management Association, InterimCEO and Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores.

He strives to find quality time to advice, assist and support pro-bono Social Enterpreneurs, in developing their projects Value Chain to contribute to maximize its social impact and value.
