An expert in leadership and workgroup management, Custodia Cabanas has authored numerous research works on organisational behaviour, being a regular collaborator with professors from Insead and Wharton on work in this field. She co-authored, in collaboration with Mauro Guillén, the Fontaneda case, which has attracted the attention of leading international business schools. In her own words “over the last three years I have extended my field of research toward internal communication and I have set up, and currently run, the first observatory in the field in a Spanish business school.”

Professor Cabanas has taught at Instituto de Empresa since 1989, and has been a visiting professor at Insead and the University of Georgetown. She regularly collaborates with leading media agents in Spain, and publishes each year the study The State of International Communication in Spain. Furthermore she created the first elective on career management at Instituto de Empresa and formed part of the team responsible for designing the school’s skills development workshops.

She holds a PhD from IE University, an MBA from Instituto de Empresa and a Law Degree from Universidad Complutense. Professor Cabanas teaches in the MBA, IMBA and Executive programmes at Instituto de Empresa.
