Zhijian Cui joined IE (Instituto de Empresa) Business School, Madrid as an Assistant Professor of Operations Management in 2011. He received a PhD in Operations Management from INSEAD, France in 2011 and an M.B.A from Pepperdine University, U.S. in 2003.

Professor Cui’s research is mainly focused on the management of New Product Development (NPD). In particular, his research studies firms’ technology strategy, the outsourcing of R&D activities and the management of cross-functional teams. His work has been published in Production and Operations Management, Research-Technology Management and International Journal of Innovation Management and was invited to be presented in various conferences such as INFORMS, POMS and EurOMA..
