Forums & Seminars
IE’s Social Responsibility Day is a student led initiative which provides an annual forum for learning and discourse regarding current SR issues. Social responsibility (SR) means different things to different people. From the perspective of corporations, SR is the obligation to conduct business in a manner that duly considers all stakeholders in order to strike an acceptable balance between financial, social, and environmental pressures. SR is inherent to the efforts of social entrepreneurs, who typically struggle more with the financial aspects of business. This forum allows us all to discover and better channel our personal impact into concrete actions.
Global Affairs Forum
During the 3rd-4th periods, students have the unique opportunity to attend the Annual Global Affairs Forum. Developing a comprehensive vision of political, social and economic trends is essential for successful business leaders today. The objective of the forum is to explore the ways in which business leaders can help address these problems, and effectively become part of the solution.
Past sessions include:
• Exploring Business Solutions to Environmental Threats - John Forgach, ForestRe
• China, The Emergence of a Superpower: Risks and Opportunities - Joshua Cooper, Kissinger Associates
• Social Entrepreneurship - Jeroo Billimoria, Child Helpline International
• CSR - Claude Fussler, WBCSD
Corporate Responsibility Tribune
The Corporate Responsibility Tribune is a joint initiative by IE Business School, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Expansión, the main aim of which is to bring the CR discussion to the highest levels of European companies, ranging from Board Members, CEOs and top management, to high government officers, NGOs and other social representatives, together with academia. It is intended to serve as a catalyser between all the different stakeholders and thus bring input from all ends, enriching the CR discussion while adding value to all participants.

• The Board’s role in Corporate Responsibility
• Managing Gender Diversity
• Internationalization & Delocalization
