IE’s objective is to train responsible leaders in the fields of business management and law. In an increasingly open world of continuous technological advances and interrelated economies, this mission requires a permanent commitment to innovation in our training programmes. The capacity to innovate is indisputably linked to the capacity of our academic community, our faculty, to generate knowledge. Consequently Knowledge plays a pivotal role in the Social Impact Management platform.
Research is powered by social impact management centres at IE, including the PwC/IE Centre for Corporate Responsibility, PwC/IE Public Sector Centre, the IE Centre for Diversity, and the IE Centre for Eco-Intelligent Management. Lines of social impact knowledge generation include: corporate responsibility; social entrepreneurship; social investing; strategic/effective philanthropy; and sustainable development.
The social impact management vein runs deep through teaching in all academic areas at IE, as evidenced in both core course and electives course content. More than 80 courses address triple bottom-line issues not only on a horizontal basis (Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Operations Management, etc.) but also vertically, bringing added depth through elective courses (Social Entrepreneurship, Social Marketing, etc.).
Forums and seminars include the Net Impact Day, a student-led initiative where world experts in CR and social entrepreneurship meet to analyse challenges and opportunities in their respective fields, and the Corporate Responsibility Tribune in collaboration with PwC and Expansion, aimed at bringing CR discussion to top-level management in European Companies.
