Admission fee €120
Place reservation fee €1,500
Credit recognition fee for transfer students  €100 /credit*

The enrollment fee of IE University is calculated based on the amount of credits the student takes. The fee for each credit (ECTS-European Credit Transfer and Accumulation Systems) is 325€.

This means that a full university degree, for example the Bachelor in Business Administration, which is composed of 240 credits (ECTS) over four years would follow as such: One year of study= 60 credits, 60 ECTS x 325€ = 19,500€

For those studying a Dual Degree, the previous calculation does not apply, since IE University compensates for the excess in credits, with the final price being 20,500€ per year. The enrollment fees are maintained in all four or five years of study, with the exceptions of corresponding changed in the CPI.

Other prices of interest for the 2017/2018 academic year are the following: Contribution to IE Foundation: Students will make this contribution every year while formalizing their enrollment: 300€.

Admission fee: 120€

*Standard fee. Transfer students are entitled to special reductions.

Information on fees for students transferring or changing program

Flexible and personalized studies are part and parcel of IE University’s educational model. In some cases, provided the Director of the undergraduate program feels the student’s profile is suitable for the program, we offer flexibility, allowing students to change program (and format) if they find their vocation is not what they thought it was going to be and we help them to change to another study plan. This may affect the number of subjects and credits that the student will have to study over the course of the undergraduate program to which they are transferring and, therefore, the cost of tuition fees.

Similarly, IE University welcomes students with the right profile who started their undergraduate studies at another university and who decide to continue with us precisely as a result of the flexible, personalized, international model we offer. Students who transfer must adjust the studies they undertook at the other university to their IE University study plan. We provide assistance through special fee prices to recognize the credits already taken. Transferring affects the structure of the student’s study plan and therefore the cost of the tuition fees.

FAQ

What is the admission fee?

It is the €120 fee which allows our candidates to begin the admission process. Although you can begin the admission process for IE University by filling in our online application, payment of the admission fee gives you the right to take the admission test and to have the suitability of your profile for study at IE University assessed by the Admissions Committee. Due to its nature, this fee cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

What is the place reservation fee?

The place reservation fee is an advance payment of €1,500 on the tuition fees whereby a candidate who has already been admitted to IE University reserves a place in one of the groups on the undergraduate program for which they have been accepted. Although the student will have to complete the administrative side of the enrollment process at the university’s General Secretariat at a later date, once they have reserved their place they are already enrolled in practical terms and are considered students of the university. Once the group is full and has been closed, candidates who have been accepted and have reserved their place are included in the official list of students enrolled on that undergraduate program.

What does the student have to pay after the place reservation fee?

The place reservation fee is deducted from the cost of the tuition fees. From the financial perspective, it is an advance payment on the cost of the tuition fees, not an additional amount. What then remains to be paid, therefore, are the remaining tuition fees up to the total amount for the undergraduate program the student has enrolled on. If the student has been awarded a scholarship of any kind, this is also deducted.

When do I have to pay the place reservation fee?

The place reservation fee must be paid on receipt of the letter from the Admissions Department confirming the student has been accepted onto the program.

If the candidate has applied to the Financial Aid Office for a scholarship, they may wait until they receive the scholarship decision.

In accordance with IE University’s higher education model, we have small class groups in order to give students individual attention. This means that places are limited, so it is important not to wait too long to reserve your place and to do it before we close the classes and groups for your undergraduate program.

When do I have to pay the tuition fees?

You can pay your full tuition fees or the relevant part (depending on the method of payment you have chosen) as soon as you have paid your place reservation fee. The full payment or the part corresponding to the method of payment chosen should always be made by October 2nd of the academic year for which the student has enrolled.
