While proponents and critics of globalization both agree that the world is becoming increasingly interconnected and interdependent, they disagree as to the nature of globalization’s economic, social, political and cultural consequences. This introductory course understands globalization both as a social construct whose contested meanings have implications for many of the most important issues of our times.
