IE Business School is pleased to announce that its Dean of Programs, Martin Boehm, has been appointed as its new Dean. Boehm will succeed Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño, who has been the Dean of IE Business School since 2004 and was recently appointed Executive President of IE University.

“For over a decade, Martin has been a valued member of faculty and a phenomenal part of our management team,” noted Executive President Íñiguez. “He has a formidable understanding and strategic vision of the business education sector and has been an excellent team builder, fostering solid support networks within the IE community and around the world.”

Boehm is well known for his focus on digital teaching initiatives, pedagogical innovation and academic excellence. During his tenure as Dean of Programs, IE Business School was ranked by the Financial Times as the top school in Europe. He has been a driving force for teaching and innovation, highlighted by the launch of the WOW Room, the first digital classroom of its kind in Europe, and the redesign of several MBA programs.

In his new responsibilities as Dean of IE Business School, Boehm will continue to lead digital teaching initiatives, putting IE Business School at the forefront of business education in Europe and internationally. He will officially take on the role of Dean in January 2017.

Martin Boehm joined IE Business School in 2006. Since that time, he has combined his academic work as Professor of Marketing with management positions that include Dean of Undergraduate Studies for IE University (2008–2010) and Associate Dean of Master in Management Programs (2010–2012) and Dean of Programs for IE Business School (2012–2016) and currently serves as a member of the Steering Committee for the GMAC Leadership Conference and the EOCCS Certification Board at EFMD. Boehm holds a BA in International Business (Reutlingen University, Germany), a Ph.D. in Marketing (Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Germany) and an MBA from Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship. He was a visiting scholar at both the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Australian Graduate School of Management. An award-winning teacher in the marketing department across undergraduate, graduate and executive education programs, Boehm has designed game-based learning materials with the aim of driving knowledge acquisition and launched the first and only Pricing MOOC course on Coursera.
