Ninety-two percent of IE University graduates find employment within six months of completing their degrees

Ninety-two percent of IE University graduates have found employment in less than 6 months of completing their degree program. This is just one of the key findings of the latest report on the labor market drawn up by IE University Careers Office.

The study follows the progress of the latest students to graduate from IE University, a body that comprises 28 nationalities. A total of 60 companies from the finance, consulting or fast moving consumer goods sectors recruited the students on completion of their studies.

Major firms that hired IE University graduates in 2015 include Google, Morgan Stanley, Santander, Amazon, Goldman Sachs and Mondelez. Spain continues to be the graduates’ country of choice to work. Forty-four percent of recent IE University graduates work outside Spain. Seventy percent of these are working in the EU, and the remainder are in the Middle East, Africa, North America and Asia. The study also reveals that 11% of new IE University graduates have become entrepreneurs and launched their own business project, or joined innovative start-ups.

“We are delighted to see that our graduates are in big demand in the work market,” says Carlos Díez Rodríguez, Director of Careers Services at IE University. “Over half of our graduates find work in a country that is not their country of origin. It is worth noting the attraction the Spanish market holds for international talent, given that 24% of the IE University graduates who find work in Spain are non-Spanish.”

The findings of the report corroborate the results of the latest Global University Employability Survey and Ranking published by UK magazine Times Higher Education, a leader in its field. The survey places IE University No. 1 in Spain, No. 10 in Europe, and No. 27 in the world for employability. The ranking evaluated the attractiveness of top universities worldwide for 4,600 recruiters and directors of large firms from 21 countries.
