Getting Around Segovia

The majority of downtown Segovia is a no car zone, which makes getting around on foot or cycling easy.

There is also a good bus service if you need to across the city quickly when the weather is bad or if you are in a hurry. Segovia has eight different bus routes. The bus service runs from around 07:30 to 23:30. There is also a city night bus which runs from 21:30 to 04:00.

You can buy a single ticket or a bus travel card (a pay-as-you-go card which you can credit with €5 at a time and use to pay your fare every time you use the bus). You can buy these cards at the following establishments:

  • Librería Cambra – Calle Pascual Marín, 19
  • Las Moreras – Calle Jorge Manrique, 8
  • Tienda de Alimentación. Calle Vía Roma, 43
  • Kiosko Manolín – Paseo Gobernador Fernández Jiménez
  • Kiosko Plaza Mayor – Plaza Mayor

For further information about bus routes, visit the Segovia bus website.

When you come to IE University, think that you’re coming here to study, but also to have fun, get connections, get to know people, make new friends. You have the peace of living in the country and a small city, but at the same time you’re 25 minutes away from Madrid.

IE University is a small place in Segovia, and that has a lot of advantages. But you have to be the kind of person who sees it. I see the small classrooms and I like it because I get more attention. That’s how it also was in my previous schools. You need to sacrifice a massive social circle and bigger city, and instead you get a tight knit community, where everyone knows each other and gets along. That’s the IE environment.

I decided to come to Spain because I thought it was strategic location. I love the culture in Spain, I can go anywhere and find interesting architecture and people are warm and welcoming.

The IE University campus is a perfect combination of historic and modern, local and international. Studying here gave me a brand new life experience. Here, people with different cultural backgrounds and languages come together. For me, the students here are more mature and independent, which has pushed me to grow a lot. I have learned much in the last year, not only from class but also from life.

The diversity of IE University allows you to learn something new about yourself through the eyes of others. IE University not only accepts, but embraces, the vast range of cultures of our students, making it a family that unconditionally loves and respect each other.
