My favorite part of being in Segovia is the fact that we all live so close to each other. Whether you live in the residence or in the city, everyone is very close to each other and we can see each other a lot.

IE is a really international Uni, it’s a great thing, there’s no environment where you can get to know so many cultures and points of views. I think it’s one of the top 3 strengths of this University.

When I started to look for a place to study that would prepare me to reach my future and professional goals, one of the most important criteria for me was an international university. So for me, IE University is the place to study and get to know different cultures. And it’s a unique place, a historical monument, and at the same time very modern. Who would’ve said a year ago I would now have friends from every continent?

The nicest thing about Segovia is everything is so close. It’s a 5 minute walk everywhere so you don’t need a car.

It’s a small city, it’s comfortable, its really nice and everything is within walking distance.

At night at the residence they offer two rooms for you to study, so I spend my nights there when I need to.

27/01/2011 - University Campus
I love the atmosphere of the university because it’s very personal. It’s not the typical university life; classes are small, people know you and know quite a lot about you and focus on your personal skills.

27/01/2011 - Diversity
I want to do international business and I think it offers a setting where they bring students from everywhere in the world and there’s so much diversity.
Luis Enrique Caraballo
27/01/2011 - University Campus
What caught my attention first was the infrastructure; it is so historical and nice, but also the people, the diversity on campus and how accepting everyone was. It allows you to be yourself. The group has definitely accepted who I am.

What was most surprising to me was the sort of people I’ve met here, they have a different mentality. I’ve met a lot of interesting people here.

27/01/2011 - Accommodation
I like living with a family because they treat us like we were part of it.

I really like living with my host family because they’re really kind. The first week my host mom and I had a laugh attack, and they have helped me so much with my Spanish.

I have a friend in Salamanca and another in Madrid. Seems like their experience has been good but they haven’t connected with the people as well as I have. It's kind of a smaller city and it’s the size I feel comfortable with.

28/01/2011 - The Residence
I am staying at the residence this year. It is more comfortable and I can be more involved with the university atmosphere.
Jorge Ospina
28/01/2011 - The Residence
I chose to live at the residence because I felt it was more comfortable. There is a cleaning and food service. Additionally, it is 30 seconds away from class, which is very convenient.

I really like the Spanish lifestyle because its really laid back, you feel really comfortable here. The weather, I think that’s an important factor because if you have blue skies every day, the mentality is totally different. You walk everywhere, people are nice to you, people are talking to you in the street.. it's great.

At the beginning, because classes were in English and I was not used to that, I took language classes from the Language Center and they were quite a lot of help to get used to studying in English.

I was already fluent in English, but decided to go to grammar tutorials and I'm now even better.

We do have a lot of work to do, it's got nothing to do with school. We have to work a lot more and study for hours outside the classroom.
Luis Enrique Caraballo

Working alongside students from other programs is very interesting, as you have to learn how to get along with different types of people. It's super interesting to notice how depending on the bachelor you are studying you have different perceptions about life or any specific project.

We will spend this summer in Mumbai, collaborating with an NGO and we'll attend class online two or three times per week.

I really get along with fellow students as this university is not massified, and everyone knows each other, spends time together, parties, goes on trips.

I chose IE University because I believe it's a university which adapts itself to modern times. We use tools and concepts which are more adapted to the current world than other universities.
Paola Gilmartín
28/01/2011 - Professors
Professors are very competent and are always willing to help us and schedule tutorials whenever a student needs it.
Paola Gilmartín
28/01/2011 - Professors
Classes here are very small, so the relationship is very personal and professors can help us out whenever we have any problem.

I decided to join IE University because it fits the best with the education that I want. Their vision of education is ‘fresh’ and I feel motivated and on the right track being among the best.

Things here are going on all the time, at least for me it's a big change and a great change because you go out and for example, just last week we decided to go on a really long 'tapeo' and we were able to go to 10 different bars in one night, there were people our age, people older, younger, and it was a great mix.

People here are so friendly. I was a bit nervous at first, as I am experiencing new cultures and meeting people from everywhere around the world. You definitely learn both how to find things in common and things you can learn from each other.
Cécile Houlès
31/01/2011 - Segovia
I was used to living in big cities and I wasn’t sure what it would be like in a small city like this but I found there is in fact a lot of activity and a lot going on here.

It was wonderful to find such an international university in Spain. Normally you’d think you have to go to the United States or United Kingdom to find something so international, but I found the mix of so many cultures and nationalities here.

I was looking for a more international focus on business as well as have the chance to learn a new language.

31/01/2011 - Diversity
My Presentation Skills Project team was composed by someone from Libya, Germany, and Portugal, so we were a very diverse group, which was very interesting, because we all had different ideas and it was great to put them together.

I chose to study here because of the international campus and because I saw that it was a very practice oriented university. The rankings were another thing that was really important to me, as I wanted a university with international presence and recognition.
