Technology at IE University

Technology is an integral part of life at IE University. Whether it is used  for academic work or used by our students, faculty and staff in their daily projects, it is part of IE University’s unique way of understanding life and higher education.

IE University is a humanistic, international university of entrepreneurs. It flexibly integrates all disciplines and areas of knowledge to nurture the complex contemporary profile that university graduates need today. Technology plays a key role in maintaining these values.

Some of IE University’s IT facilities include:

Wi-Fi access on the entire campus

You will have unrestricted internet access everywhere on campus at all times. IE University encourages online studying, research, and exchanging views, materials and work. This access is especially important given the prominence of IE University’s unique online educational formats.

All classrooms and conference rooms are equipped with:

  • Projection systems
  • Audiovisual systems

Audiovisual and multimedia material is widely used in the classroom and class or group is often connected to the internet or to the Online Campus. This technology means you can take part in a live video conference or discussion with a professor at an IE University partner university abroad.

  • Remote control functions

Professors, speakers and students (in a class presentation, when submitting a project, etc.) can use these functions to build all kinds of audiovisual, internet and archive material into their presentations. Laptops, digital or video playback devices and other terminals can be easily connected to the projection system.

  • All classrooms at IE University are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Your classroom experience at IE University will be completely different from any other institution because of this complex system of integrated technology in the classroom.

  • There are computer labs on the Segovia and Madrid campuses for students and professors which are equipped with all the software needed for projects or research work.
  • There are two special laboratories on the Segovia Campus: the MediaLab and NuDL. 
  • All work rooms (for small groups or individual use) are equipped with computers, internet access and projection systems.

Technology use at IE University

IE University expects all students and faculty to make extensive use of technology, becoming familiar with the latest tools and  developments.

Technology use at IE University is not restricted to faculty and the research community, but is open to all regular and visiting students, visiting researchers, and all staff members of  the University community.

No approval or authorization is required to use facilities and resources, apart from the coordination necessary to ensure that their use remains available to other University members.

IE University trains its students in the responsible, efficient and innovative use of information technology. IE University is constantly investing in new and costly technologies.  Hence, it is the students' responsibility to use the equipment to enhance their education and skills, appreciating its value and the unique opportunity it offers them.
