IE University is rooted in entrepreneurship and the Start-Up Lab reflects its commitment to empower students who want to turn their business ideas into reality. Many of our students come to IE University with a business plan. The Start-Up Lab is a platform that provides the training, resources and networks needed, through an organized and sequential way, that will help you start a business and establish your own company.

The Start-Up Lab provides seminars and training in areas like marketing, funding, strategy and legal aspects, as well as practical workshops throughout the year led by experts and entrepreneurs. Professors and experts work with you to consolidate the different areas of your business plan so that you can then pitch your plan to investors and launch your business.

How does it work?

Bring a business idea

You must bring a well prepared, viable business plan, outlining your vision and describing in full the business or initiative. From there two professors review the business plan with you, helping you to polish it and strengthen week areas. You will also attend workshops focused on skills needed by entrepreneurs.

Training to launch your venture

External experts on marketing, finance, strategy, and legal aspects will work with you on the next steps, according to your business plan needs. You will also have privileged advice and tutorship from retired CEOs and successful entrepreneurs who will share with you a wealth of knowledge from their personal experiences.

Angel investors

We bring angel investors to survey those business plans that pass the first two steps. You must pitch your business plan and if successful, investors will provide it with the financing it needs. IE University will also work with you in all the legal aspects of incorporating your business.
