The experiences you have beyond the classroom, through internships or exchanges, play a key role in each student’s academic, professional and personal training at IE University.

Internships

Internships give you direct contact with the business community and the opportunity to be an active participant in projects for companies and organizations, gaining professional experience.

The Academic Track students have chosen will determine the internships they may do. Each academic Track is designed to reach a Professional Profile. Students have the possibility of doing a variety of internships so long as they complement the academic Track and add value to the students’ Professional Profile.

Each Academic Track is designed with different internship options and requirements. The types of internships that students carry out vary, from working in companies and organizations, to doing research projects and working with a professor.

Throughout the internship periods, an Advisor will be in contact with students to monitor their performance and help them get the most from their professional experience.

Exchanges

If you want the chance to view your studies from other perspectives, IE University’s exchange option will be of interest to you.

We recommend that students go on an exchange depending on the academic Track they are following. The main criterion is that the courses or programs at other universities can be justified academically as a good “fit” for the students’ academic Track.

Some students may be advised to take IE University courses rather than going on an exchange in the case where certain Track requirements would be better fulfilled by IE University’s expertise and courses offered.

The Advisor will guide students in choosing an exchange university and the courses they should take.
