Juan Carlos Pastor

Juan-Carlos Pastor is an Associate Professor of leadership and organizational behavior at the IE University. He is a leading scholar in the areas of Leadership Development, Coaching, Managing People Skills, High-Performance Teams and Leading Change and has received many awards for his teaching in the MBA, Executive MBA and in-company executive education programs. Juan Carlos earned an M.A. in Social Psychology from Clark University, a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the State University of New York at Buffalo and was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University. He has helped many companies to develop their leadership talent and effectively implement change management programs all over the world. In a global world, leading people and organizations has become more complex. Competition means that organizations need to be more flexible, responsive, and agile. But leading people in agile organizations requires leaders to know more about the human side of the business and develop their soft skills. With experience gained through his consultancy and training projects, his teaching techniques include action learning workshops and experiential exercises that focus on the development of practical skills. Professor Pastor is also an active academic researcher and his work has been published in leading academic journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Leadership Quarterly Journal, Human Resource Management, and the Academy of Management Learning & Education Journal.
