Benjamin Zander, Director of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, at IE Business School

Benjamin Zander, Director of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, was at IE Business School’s Madrid campus on June 22 to give a talk on “Music and Leadership: Experiencing the Art of Possibility”

During his talk, which took place at Area 31, IE’s innovation and entrepreneurship space, Zander shared his vision of life, the possibilities that surround us, and what is within our reach if we want it to be. Zander told stories and talked about personal experiences, underscoring the fact that it is possible to change our take on reality and set off a positive upward spiral of possibilities in order to become true leaders and transform our potential and the way we see they world.

In addition to his music facet, Benjamin Zander is a renowned speaker who has made the opening and closing remarks at events like the World Economic Forum at Davos, and has done a TED Talk on “The transformative power of classical music” which received almost 8 million hits. Benjamin Zander is the co-author, along with Rosamund Stone Zander, of the book “The Art of Possibility: Transforming Professional and Personal Life”, which has been translated into 17 languages.

Benjamin Zander, who is a member of the New England Conservatory, visited Spain while on tour with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, comprised of musicians aged 12 to 21. Zander is known for his interpretation of works by Anton Bruckner and Gustav Mahler.
