IE Business School Alumni reach finals at Dragon Boat race in Zurich

IE Business School Alumni reach finals at Dragon Boat race in Zurich
This August, IE Business School alumni participated in the 6th annual Dragon Boat rowing race organized by the Swiss Association of MBAs (SAMBA).

The event brought together more than 320 MBA alumni, faculty, and friends representing ten schools including IE Business School, IMD, Kellogg, and INSEAD whose alumni took to the water to represent their respective schools.

This is the first year that IE Business School has participated in the race at Zurich Lake and approximately 30 alumni attended, traveling from all over Switzerland including Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, and Zug.

With its ancient Chinese origins, the race involves teams of ten paddlers in a nine meter boat with a drummer and helm. There is no other paddle sport in which 12 people work together to be rewarded through the efforts of the whole crew, rather than a few individual performances.

After three elimination rounds, our IE Alumni Team managed to classify for the final round to win fourth place.  The row team consisted of: Marc Prager (Captain), Patrick Kramer (Drummer) and Rocio Fernandez,  Kaspar Ernits,  Ambar Rivero, Henry Kalbe, Leonardo Todaro, Tommaso Cacurio, Enrique Melero, Ricardo Novella, Roland Antonopolous, Matthias Eichholz, Helen De Haan, Astrid Wyss, Servane Claudel, all paddlers.

Franka Schaeffler and Servane Claudel were involved in logistics, coordination and IE Alumni sponsorship!
