Social Innovation @ IE
At IE we know that we stand at the cutting edge of knowledge, nurturing our community of students, alumni, faculty and members of the IE team, where together we harness great potential to contribute positively to the world around us. We believe it is therefore essential for us to apply the advances in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship generated at IE and that characterize us as a school, to the struggle for social equality and environmental sustainability. This passion for social innovation exists throughout all areas of the school and is especially promoted by the Social Impact area, run by Joaquín Garralda and Max Oliva, in collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Social Innovation is presented horizontally in all areas of our school, from Finance to Entrepreneurship. IE students live a strong sense of social commitment. We teach them how to apply it in their careers from a NGO, social enterprise, and private or public corporation perspective. They participate in a diverse range of projects such as advising microfinance institutions in Ghana or assisting social enterprises in Peru.
Social Innovation Cluster
The overall goal of this cluster is to learn from the various activities that many members of the IE community are implementing in which they apply innovation to pursue positive social impact. Also, we would like to facilitate collaboration and networking among those interested in the topic. Foto adjunta: Social innovation Cluster

FinancIEros sin Fronteras
Financieros sin Fronteras (FsF) is an NGO born within IE Business School as a response to the need to strengthen the microfinance sector in Africa, so that those with the potential to generate micro-productive activities can have access to the tools needed to make a productive change by themselves, overcoming the challenges and seizing the opportunities available to foster sustainable individual capitalism. To do this, FsF puts the creative potential of IE Business School students, and staff and educators´ professional experience available to both microfinance institutions, which are the most appropriate tool when it comes to helping microentrepreneurs, and to individuals or private entities that want to realize their ethical and social commitment.
