Francisco Palao is a serial entrepreneur who lives halfway between Silicon Valley and Spain. Francisco holds who holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Executive MBA by the IE Business School, Graduate Student by the Singularity University at NASA Ames and LaunchPad Educators Program by Berkeley with Steve Blank.
In 2002, meanwhile Francisco was studying at the University, he founded his first Internet startup. The startup was called BuscarAmigos.com and it was a dating portal. A bigger Internet company acquired BuscarAmigos.com in 2004.
After that, Francisco has co-founded several other startups (two of those have been acquired). In 2006, after finishing his PhD, Francisco founded IActive as a spin-off of the University of Granada focused on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation. IActive has won several international technology awards. Also, Francisco co-founded Nativoo (www.nativoo.com), acquired by SBTUR (Brazil) and LeanMonitor (www.leanmonitor.com), acquired by a US-based company focused on entrepreneurship.
In 2012, Francisco was recognized by the MIT as TR35, award given to the best 35 innovators under 35.
Francisco is also a Mentor in different startup Accelerators Programs and an Advisory Board member at the Lifeboat Foundation. Francisco writes about technology, innovation and entrepreneurship on his blog www.franciscopalao.com.
