Luca Bovone

I am the Founder and CEO of Habyt. I was born in Genova, Italy, where I also grew up. I then studied in Milan and Madrid and had my first working experiences in Shanghai and Hong Kong. After graduating from IE Business School I joined Dropbox, where I was part of the EMEA landing team. After 3 years of crazy growth (going from 30 to 400 people) I left to start my own business, Habyt. After only 4 years we are now the leading platform for housing for young professionals, with 8,000 units covering 24 cities in 11 countries. My goal is to continue to focus on housing, making Habyt the global housing brand of choice, covering all cities and age groups, with a focus on making the cities we live in more fun and sustainable.

How did IE helped you to get where you are today?

IE Business School taught me some important lessons — firstly around diversity. My team today — 200 people coming from 40 nationalities — look a lot like the IE class I was part of.

What is the best advice you can give to a young individual starting his/her professional career?

Always do something you can have fun doing. Make a decision and stick to it. Results compound, you always overestimate what you can achieve in the first 5 years, but underestimate what you can achieve in 10.

What does the future have in store for you?

I will continue focusing on building the best housing experience, anywhere with Habyt. Will continue to follow my passion for food and traveling and have fun doing it until I can!
