INTRODUCE YOURSELF:

My name is Ville, and I am from Finland. I am passionate about empowering people to create and strengthen a corporate culture where innovation and constant renewal prospers.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THIS WEEK IN THE BOOTCAMP?

It has been a super intensive ride so far. We have been challenged both mentally and physically. However, it has been extremely gratifying to observe how we as a group have started to become closer week by week. Everyone in the program is supporting one another in overcoming possible challenges and building a positive atmosphere.

WHAT WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF YOUR WEEK?

The most challenging part would be the python exam. It is an extremely useful and versatile programming language, but to master, it requires a lot of repetition and learning through trial and error.

HAS ANYTHING FUNNY OR COMICAL HAPPENED DURING THE BOOTCAMP THIS WEEK?

The abnormal weather has sure been comical. Didn’t expect that the weather in Helsinki(my hometown) would be warmer and sunnier for the big part of May. On the other hand, the weather per se doesn’t really make a difference for the BootCampers, since we anyway spend most of the time inside the premises of IE ☺

WHAT IS THE MOST PRACTICAL SKILL THAT YOU’VE LEARNED THUS FAR IN THE BOOTCAMP?

Starting to understand how machine learning works and becoming aware of new application areas where it can and could be utilized. To get a firm base knowledge like this will be useful after the Bootcamp!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT IN CLASS?

I love to stroll around the beautiful streets of Madrid and explore its versatile gastronomic scene. I adore good food and wines. Combing a nice full bodied Ribera Del Duero with some high-quality Iberico ham is an experience hard to surpass.☺ In addition to these hedonistic activities, I like to put my running shoes on and hit the trails of Retiro Park.
