Director of our new Master in Global Corporate Compliance (LLM) attends Ethisphere´s Global Ethics

Join Maria Hernandez, Academic Director of the Master in Global Corporate Compliance of IE Law School and Partner of the Compliance Department at Eversheds Nicea, at the Ethisphere¹s 2017 Global Ethics Summit March 15.

Corporate Compliance is the hot topic and in today’s global corporate world: according to PwC, last year 71% of firms expected the cost of senior compliance professionals to increase, due to the demand for skilled/ knowledgeable staff.

This fall IE Law School launches the Master in Global Corporate Compliance (LLM), “a comprehensive program tailored to meet the needs of today’s changing business environment,” said Maria Hernández, Academic Director of the Master in Global Corporate Compliance of IE Law School and Partner of the Compliance Department at Eversheds Nicea.

Before joining Evershed Nicea, Maria was the Head of Legal for the Southern European Region and the Chief Compliance Counsel Europe at Pentair. Maria’s renowned professional career has led to her winning several awards in the legal field: she was named The Corporate Compliance Lawyer of the Year at the Golden Awards Iberian Lawyer 2014 and she won the Outstanding Award as Best Business lawyer under 40 in 2010 (Awards 40 under 40). Maria is a frequent writer in specialized magazines and books and a speaker on Corporate Ethics and Compliance at international conferences, including the International Law Office Annual General Counsel Awards in New York, 2012, amongst others. She has also spoken at Harvard Law School in 2016.

Maria holds a Law degree from the University Complutense of Madrid, a degree on European Law from the Universidad San Pablo CEU in Madrid and a Post-degree in European Union Law and Economics by Université La Sorbonne in Paris.

The Master in Global Corporate Compliance is a cutting-edge program designed for professionals from diverse backgrounds that want to start an exciting new career path, develop a sophisticated understanding of corporate compliance and be the next compliance officers in the global marketplace across different industries.
