Well, two weeks into our Data Science Bootcamp, it\u2019s proving to be an exciting journey of discovery \u2013 and things are only getting better.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>My name\u2019s Carmen and I\u2019m one of the bootcampers taking part in this incredible initiative. <strong>From a young age, I\u2019ve been passionate about technology and innovation.<\/strong> This passion has driven me to get involved in different initiatives. I\u2019ve been a part of the Rafel del Pino\u2019s robotic team as well as AI Saturdays Madrid leads. Now, at this bootcamp, I\u2019m continuing to pursue my dream while exploring the fundamentals of AI.<\/p>\n<p>So, what does a normal day look like? <strong>Honestly, it\u2019s quite intense<\/strong> \u2013 but I wouldn\u2019t want it any other way! We learn something new every day. It\u2019s only the second week and we\u2019ve already worked with a huge dataset, tested a model and displayed the data graphically. You quickly understand the enormous potential of Data Science and just how many paths it can take you down.<\/p>\n<p>We are currently learning about <strong>Python, R and Maths and Stats<\/strong> and we\u2019ve also started the Data Lab sessions. These are focused on developing projects that can help companies overcome real challenges they\u2019re facing. We\u2019ve received datasets from Endesa, B&amp;A Glass and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/investing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\">investing.com<\/a>, and are beginning to look at the structure of the code and planning the solutions we\u2019ll implement over the next two months. On top of all this, we will also look into Data Visualization, Data Acquisition and Machine Learning in the coming weeks. Like I said, it\u2019s a really intensive program!<\/p>\n<p>One thing that surprised me about the bootcamp was the importance placed on \u201c<strong>Resilience<\/strong>\u201d. This is an additional activity that is designed to help us focus better while also managing stress and promoting self control. I find it incredible just how many different mindfulness techniques we are using to improve how we work.<\/p>\n<p>The bootcamp has definitely been an overwhelmingly positive experience so far. We\u2019ve already learned so much from each other while working hard on shared projects to become experts in the most important emerging field of this century.<\/p>\n<p><em>We\u2019ll be keeping you up to date on program developments in the coming weeks.
