Hello, world!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s one of the most basic programming exercises you will learn, but it\u2019s also my way of welcoming you to week 7 of this Data Science Bootcamp.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You see, we started some weeks ago, and from the print (\u201chello,world!\u201d) to knn models things have escalated pretty quickly.<\/p>\n

How is it possible, right? Well, remember, they say that time is relative and this bootcamp is no exception.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve overcome R, SQL, Math and Stats and we are now facing the challenges of machine learning, data visualization, communication and storytelling and our much-needed resilience.<\/p>\n

Day to day, we are challenged to think beyond.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are asked to try, either by improving our code, using another function, or just by developing our capstone projects \u2026 we are constantly being exposed into finding ways and alternatives through the problems we are facing.<\/p>\n

So with this environment class becomes less of a lecture and more of a lab, where our professors bring in their knowledge, their passion, and real life experience to mix it with our curiosity and eagerness to learn. The result? This amazing ecosystem that is taking place every day from 9 \u2013 6pm (sometimes 8pm) at V130 basement.<\/p>\n

And who are we really?<\/p>\n

Well a part from a bunch of crazy people, we are also a bunch of enthusiasts, coming from different parts of the world, with different backgrounds but all sharing one thing: our curiosity for data science.<\/p>\n

From a Venezuelan father consultant who moved to Madrid with his family, to an empowering Hongkongese female with broad experience in IT and finance \u2026 \u00a0to every single person in this intake, I can assure you we have it all.<\/p>\n

And me?<\/p>\n

I am Ana, a 25 yr old Honduran who majored in industrial management engineering and who discovered her passion by fate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started working in data analysis about a year ago. There was a need of business knowledge linked with technological skills, and there I was eager to help and eager to become hybrid.<\/p>\n

\u201cIntrapreneurs\u201d is how they call self-motivated people, who are proactive and take initiatives towards change. I see myself as that, and I was lucky enough to experience professional growth in this environment while being surrounded by inspiring people.<\/p>\n

I like to disrupt how things are done, think new and better ways of doing them while analyzing data for better understanding in summary I enjoy anything related with data, data that adds value to business, people and processes.<\/p>\n

We still have a couple more weeks to go, so stay tuned!<\/p>\n
