Bachelor in Architectural Studies
Mónica García received her Architecture degree from Polytechnic University of Valencia (1998). She holds a Master in Architecture, MArch II, from the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University (2001) and a PhD in Architectural Design from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2016). Her research is focus on experimental practices in architecture from the sixties to the present day.
She is a professor of Architectural Design at ETSAV since 2002 and a design critic in architecture at IE University since 2013. She has also been an associate professor at the Boston Architectural Center BAC, an assistant professor at the Graduated School of Design, Harvard University and a visiting critic at L´École d´Architecture de Paris-La Villette, L´École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris-Val de Seine and Vienna University of Technology.
She has collaborated with several architecture studios in Paris: Ateliers 234, Olivier Chaslin Architecte and Architectures Jean Nouvel. In 2003 she co-founded Garcia-Floquet Arquitectos, whose projects have received awards in various national and international competitions. Her works about collective housing were selected for the 10th Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial, X BEAU, and finalist for the XI BEAU.
