Siv Helene Stangeland

Co-Founder of Helen & Hard, Norway


Siv Helene Strangeland was born in Stavanger, Norway. She studied French and art in Bordeaux one year before starting her architectural studies in AHO Oslo under Sverre Fehn and Christian Norberg Schultz.

In 1996, she co-founded the firm Helen & Hard with Austrian architect Reinhard Kropf. Originally located in Stavanger on the west coast of Norway, today, the company has a staff of 24 people drawn from 8 countries, with offices both in Stavanger and Oslo. The undertaken design at different scales and scopes, on a wide spectrum of projects ranging from single-family houses to large public buildings, from offices and multi-family housing projects to master planning.
