Aysel Omarova, Azerbaijan
Communications Consultant at Red Bull
I was lucky enough to graduate from IE when it was becoming popular and well-known in my country, so it was easy to introduce myself [into the job market].
Plus, I ended up landing in the same company I had previously worked for in a more senior position, because they were committed to waiting for me to graduate. If you’re already working, it’s a good idea to negotiate terms in order to return to your company after the program (if it’s something you’re interested in). This alleviates the stress of job hunting. You can still look for other jobs, but will be less stressed, because you already have one offer on the table.
After graduating, I worked at a PR agency, and then moved to a new position at the international European Games Operation Committee. This is how sports PR became my passion. It was a project job that lasted a little longer than a year. After that opportunity, I provided consultation services for a few months before joining the marketing team at Red Bull in Azerbaijan.
I have recently moved to Dubai, and am still working with Red Bull as a consultant while looking for new challenges in a new country.
