Begoña’s research and teaching interests are focused on audiovisual works, in the areas of contemporary art film, documentaries, TV series, and new audiovisual formats.
In her current research she studies the ethical and aesthetic implications of audiovisual representations of marginal realities and conflicts, analyzing how creative images critically question mainstream depictions of those realities.
She has published several books and articles and has directed interdisciplinary research projects and graduate dissertation papers.
