Roberto Costumero is an innovator. He is always looking for complex problems to be solved.

In the last years he has specialized in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, focused on extracting information from Spanish written documents, mainly Electronic Health Records and legal documents. He is spent also 6 months working in the IBM Watson Multilingual Core team in Dublin working on adapting IBM Watson to a multilingual environment within a project in the Spanish bank industry and a Japanese telco.

He has been developing software for more than 10 years and he has acquired many different skills in software design. He has a solid knowledge and experience in different technologies like Java, Go, PHP, Javascript/jQuery, in both systems and web development projects. As part of his professional and personal development he is always curious of the latest technologies and he is learning and applying new technologies or frameworks to solve different problems.

He also has a strong background in web development, UNIX systems administration, and applying agile methodologies (mainly SCRUM) to improve productivity. He has also acquired experience in managing small teams and designing solutions for different types of projects from scratch.

Due to a natural entrepreneurial mindset, he has participated in different competitions for entrepreneurs with different projects and outcomes, including two prizes to the best business ideas at ActúaUPM. Thanks to the courses received, he has a strong background on understanding and developing business plans. These projects have also let him to speak in public and perform many presentations from the technical and business points of view.

He is always willing to learn new things, work with highly talented people, and give all the best to deliver the best outcomes and user experiences.
