Why health insurance?

All IE students should have complete health insurance coverage to cover any illness or accident that may occur during their stay in Spain. This coverage can be ensured by means of the European Health Card, for EU citizens that have the option of applying for it in their country of origin, or by private medical insurance. For the latter, our school has partnerships with several insurance companies.

Both companies offer a comprehensive medical coverage plan with significant benefits and discounts for students.

If you’re an EU citizen (residing in the EU): European Health Insurance Card.

The European Health Insurance Card allows nationals from the European Economic Area and Switzerland to access public health care services during their stay in Spain. If you are eligible, it is very important that you apply for the EHIC in your home country prior to your arrival in Madrid.
